My Mood


Today Lord I struggle with my mood. My mood wants to make this a dark day, a gloomy day, and a "I’m-mad-at-world day." My “feeler” is not fact; and I must not allow my mood to become a self-fulfilling prophecy. Help me Lord to change my mood and make this day a glorious day. Amen.

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. - Philippians 4:8

Thank you for reminding us of the help found in prayer, scripture, and humor. I've also begun reading again from the classic, daily devotional book God Calling - a spiritually insightful book I read years ago and gave away when we moved. Recently the recipient brought the book to mind, and that very day I found a lovely gift edition at a church bazaar for .25!
