Listening

Help me Lord to listen before answering. I can only give foolish advice when I spit out answers and give opinions without knowing the questions. Let my hearing be enlarged and speaking be little. Amen.

He who answers before listening— that is his folly and his shame. (Proverbs 18:13)

A fool finds no pleasure in understanding but delights in airing his own opinions. (Proverbs 18:2)

We believe the world is a little better place when people take a moment and pray. Would you please share our prayer with others.

When I speak...

Lord, please be the master of my words. When I must speak, let my words be few, true, and glorify you. Amen.

In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise. (Proverbs 10:19)

Me and My Mouth

Please share Today's Prayer with a friend. Share

Lord teach me when to open my mouth and when to keep my big mouth shut. On the surface this would seem to be a relatively easy task but in real life this is enormously difficult. It requires both wisdom and self-control that only God can provide. So Lord please hear my request and be gracious to heal what mistakes I have made by opening my mouth when I should not have. Amen.

A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver. (Proverbs 25:11)

Few Words

Lord, I often make mistakes when I run my mouth addressing things I know little about or speaking to matters before thinking. Help me Lord to choose my words wisely and let them be few and rightly chosen words. Amen

When words are many, transgression is not lacking, but whoever restrains his lips is prudent. Proverbs 10:19 ESV

Be a straight shooter.

Lord allow me to speak honestly. Help me not to twist my words in a manner to benefit me or to present me as something I am not. Let me be known as a straight shooter. Amen!

Put away from you crooked speech, and put devious talk far from you. Proverbs 4: 24 (ESV)
