He is the giver of power!

Lord, help your servant to rely on your strength and your might to see him/her through the day. Help me be sensitive to those times when I start to trust in my strength or look for strength and help from others; so I can turn and trust in you.  Amen.

He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Isa 40:29

I bow my knees before the Father

Today we take our prayer straight from the pages of Scripture. This pray comes from the Apostle Paul in the Ephesians 3.

I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen. (Ephesians 3:14-21 ESV)

Not My Strength

Gently teach me Lord to rely on your strength and your wisdom. When I trust your wisdom, I walk in your will; and when I trust in your strength, then many mighty tasks can be accomplished. Amen.

The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him. (Psalms 28:7)
