Officially the “holiday season” (i.e. the period of time from Thanksgiving to Christmas) has begun.  This time causes a great deal of stress for many people. Lord, allow your servant to remain cool and calm and let your servant be a source of encouragement and peace to others. Amen

With Eagerness: A Thanksgiving Prayer

Lord let me live the life you have given to me with an eagerness to accomplish all the tasks you have before me. Allow me to approach each task with the proper attitude, seeing problems as opportunities and accomplishments as gifts from you. Let all that I do glorify you; and when I rest my head on my pillow tonight, may I have a thankful heart. Amen.

And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; (Col 3:23)

Lord, today I will have the opportunity to live the meaning of the word "Gratitude:. Make my heart a heart of gratefulness and may my life reflect the spirit of thanksgiving. May all that I come in contact with see how grateful I am to you. Amen.

Little Blessings: A Thanksgiving Prayer

Lord, please allow your child to observe and be thankful for the little blessings of life. Do not allow a sunrise or a sunset go unnoticed nor let the songs of the birds or the giggles of a child go unheard. Help your servant see the little blessings and give praise to you. Amen.

That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all thy wondrous works. (Psalm 26:7)

Providential Care

Today’s word is providence.

Lord, your providential care watches over your children but often goes unnoticed. Today, I wish to thank you and praise for that care; and I wish to learn to trust in your unseen hand that guides the affairs of men. Amen.

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28)

Lord, we offer a prayer of thanksgiving for those that have severed to protect this nation. We especially remember and honor them that gave their life for our freedom; and we ask a special blessing for their families. We ask your protective hand be around those that are now serving in harms way. We ask that you touch those that have be wounded with you healing hand; and, Lord, we ask that you divine wisdom guide those that govern this great land. May you bless the USA. Amen.
