Pray for the USA

Lord we earnestly pray for our nation. Over history, as a nation, we have often chosen the wrong directions and have embrace wickedness instead of righteous; but because of the prayers of your people and your grace, we have been blessed. We confess our sins and ask that you intercede on our behalf. Please guide the hands of those we have chosen to lead us and help us as a nation to overcome the problems that face us. Above all else, Lord turn the hearts of the people of this land to you and let us seek to be a nation of righteousness that truly trust in you. Amen

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. (2 Chronicles 7:14)  

I Confess My Troubles*

Martin Luther said,“What are the things we should pray for? First, our personal troubles…The greatest trouble we can ever know is thinking that we have no trouble for we can become hard-hearted and insensible to what is inside of us.”

Lord today I hold before you my troubles -- my personal stuggles and trials. Some of these are the results of my own poor choices and some because of rebellion to your will and your word. I confess my sins, my faults, my mistakes; and I look to you and your grace to trun my troubles into blessings. I also trust you to see me through those troubles that may have come upon me for reason unknown to me. Amen.

Stewardship?

I am overwhelmed with gratitude. You have blessed me with a great family, good friends, and all my needs. Still, I am not a very good steward of these gifts. I do not pray for family like I should. I do not cultivate and nurture my relationship with my family or my friends. I often neglect the necessary things you have provided. 

Today I ask you to help me be a better steward of the blessings you have granted. 

And he called him, and said unto him, How is it that I hear this of thee? give an account of thy stewardship… Luke 16:2

My Shortcomings

Father, help me see my shortcomings, the faults and sins that are mine. Allow me the grace not to pass judgment on another before I carefully examine my own life. Holy Spirit search me and make known to me those secret sins so I might confess them and serve the LORD with a pure heart. I give thanks to my Lord Jesus for shedding his precious blood so I might obtain forgiveness. Amen. Share
