Help Me Love

Help me to love what is important and not to love what the world loves. Help me to love my family, my brothers and sisters in Christ, and you with the kind of love you have for me. Help me to learn to also love my enemies. Amen.

And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ. (2Th 3:5)

This Is My Prayer

Today's prayer is gleaned from pages of Scripture:

This is my prayer: that my love for the Lord might increase more and more with knowledge and insight. I pray that I will be able to decide what really matters and that I will be sincere and blameless. I pray that I will be filled with the fruit of righteousness, which comes from Jesus Christ, in order to give glory and praise to my God. Amen

Based on a prayer found in Philippians 1:9-11:
And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.

Guard My Heart and My Mind

Lord help me to set a guard my heart. Let me have a heart of faith and let me have a heart of love. Help my mind and emotions rest in the hope and salvation you have promised. Help me Lord to walk in the light of your Word and your Spirit. Amen.

But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation. 1 Thessalonians 5:8 ESV

Just a Closer Walk with Thee*

Lord, I call upon you today to help me develop a close relationship with you. Help to love you with my all -- my body, soul, spirit, mind and might. Only by a close relationship to you will I be able to resist temptations and be obedient. Amen.

Love and Compassion

 As demonstrated by our Lord on the cross, love and compassion is the heart of Jesus. Lord I wish to have a loving and compassionate heart. Let my attitude towards and treatment of others be as kind and loving as your loving kindness has been to me. Amen.

He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered: the LORD is gracious and full of compassion. (Psalms 111:4)

Fruit of the Spirit - Love

Allow me Lord to be a beacon of love. Where there is hatred let me show love. Cleanse me of bitterness, prejudice, and thoughts of revenge and allow me to be a vessel of love.  Allow me to deeply love my family, my friends, my neighbors, and my enemies; and Lord let my love for you to continually grow.  Amen.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. - Gal 5:22,23 NIV

Today Lord I ask that you to help me to love my brothers and sisters in Christ -- AND Lord help me to love those that do not know you!

No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. 1 John 4:12
