Today's Prayer:

I know Lord that you always provide for our needs and I thank you for doing so. I ask that you help me to  so that I can rest in contentment. Amen

And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind. For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things. But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you. (Luke 12:29-31)

aah...the simple things

Lord let me be content with the simple things of life. Allow me to see the splendor of a sunrise, the joy of a child’s smile, the refreshing touch of a cool breeze, and all the wonderful blessings you have given your child. Amen.

Upright and Satisfied*

Lord allow me to be upright in my walk with you and therefore be content. Amen

The righteous has enough to satisfy his appetite, but the belly of the wicked suffers want. Proverbs 13:25 ESV

A righteous person knows contentment but the unrighteous person is never satisfied. The Apostle Paul said, “I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.” Godliness and contentment go hand-in-hand; whereas ungodliness is followed by dissatisfaction.  (See 1 Timothy 6:6 and Philippian 4:11-12) -JB

Where I put my trust will determine if I will know peace and contentment. With the threat of an economic crisis hanging over many nations, let me, O Lord, renew my trust in YOU for my greatest treasures are not here on earth. Amen
