Child Like Friendship/Trust

After accepting Jesus as my savior as a boy, the one of things I treasured most about the memory was the walk home from church with my new friend, Jesus. I had a pure trust in my new friend and rejoiced in the new life He had given.

My prayer today is that the Lord will renew the simple and pure trust I had in my friend, Jesus. I know He has not changed and has not left me. Lord allow me to walk with you today.

And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 18:3

The Big Picture

Your servant is reminded of how little he knows. The “Big Picture” of all that is happening is beyond my reach. Teach me to trust in you when your ways are not clear to me. Help me to grasp this simple truth: It is enough to know that you do see the “Big Picture” and control all. Amen. 

Help Me Too Trust You!

Trusting you, Lord, should be easy. Nevertheless, like Peter when he took his eyes off of You and focused on the storm, I often let the situations of the day distract me; and I lose my trust in You. Help me Lord to remain focused on you and to walk through life trusting You. Amen.

But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all thy works. (Psalms 73:28)

Providential Care

Today’s word is providence.

Lord, your providential care watches over your children but often goes unnoticed. Today, I wish to thank you and praise for that care; and I wish to learn to trust in your unseen hand that guides the affairs of men. Amen.

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28)

My Enemies

I am reminded today of the enemies of my soul and my testimony. They wish to bring havoc to my life and destroy my witness. Lord please rebuke them and help me to walk in righteousness. Please forgive me of my sins and remember you great mercy. 

O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me… Remember, O LORD, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses; for they have been ever of old.  Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness’ sake, O LORD. - Psalm 25:2, 6-7

Lord help me to trust in you to provide for my every need. The temptation to rely on my own ingenuity and strength is great and often causes me to get ahead of you Lord. Help me acknowledge you as Jehovahjireh ( “The Lord will provide” Genesis 22:14). Amen!

"Infinite Wisdom..."

My view is limited. Lord, I do not see all of your ways and all of your works nor how they play out in the big picture. You are infinite; and I am not. Help me Lord to learn to trust your wisdom and never doubt who is really in charge. Amen! 

For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. (Isaiah 55:9)

Lord please grant your servant his/her daily needs and help me learn to trust in your promises. Amen.

As a tightrope walker trust the net below him, let me trust you. Allow me, Lord Jesus, to trust you to see me safely through my endeavors today.  If I fail and fall, I can trust your faithfulness to catch me and your grace to reinstate me; for I know that you watch over your children. Amen.

New Year Prayer

Help me Lord to put the past behind me. Grant me strength and the resolve to repent of my sins, to forgive others of the wrongs to me, and resolve to live for your glory. Increase my faith, guide my decisions, and teach me your will. Amen.

Where I put my trust will determine if I will know peace and contentment. With the threat of an economic crisis hanging over many nations, let me, O Lord, renew my trust in YOU for my greatest treasures are not here on earth. Amen
