A Back-To-School Prayer!

Lord many children across this nation will soon be returning to school. We ask you to restore in our schools the truths found in your word. Allow those students that are believers in you to be bold in their witness for you. May they become living Bibles for their classmates since our nation has rejected the teaching of the Bible within the classroom. Amen

Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak. Ephesians 6:18-20
"By removing the Bible from schools we would be wasting so much time and money in punishing criminals and so little pains to prevent crime. Take the Bible out of our schools and there would be an explosion in crime." --Benjamin Rush, Signer of the Declaration of Independence, Physician, writer, educator, humanitarian

Let Me Meditate On Your Word

Lord let me meditate on your word. Grant me the desire and the discipline to develop a devotional quite-time to allow your word to sink deep within me. May your Spirit teach me and equip me for the privilige of serving you. Amen.

This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. Joshua 1:8

Delighting in the Water of Your Word

Lord allow me to delight in the water of your word and to become a person of hope in a dark world. Amen

He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers. Psalms 1:3 ESV

Pastor Jim's Observation:
The person that follows the Lord and obeys his word is like a well-watered tree in a barren land. A hopeless land and a hopeless life needs people that delights in the Lord and his word. They are a refreshing tree that produces hope; and they know true prosperity.

Lord help me study your word...

Lord help me to study your word for the delight of it. Do not allow me to diminish the glory or the joy of your word by approaching it in the wrong spirit; for by the knowledge of your word, I will know you better! Allow me to know the path you have chosen for your servant and cause me to delight in your word. Amen.

"Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me" (John 5:39).

That I Might Walk In Wisdom

True wisdom and real knowledge with understanding comes from the LORD. All wisdom, knowledge and understanding needs to be weighed in the light of his word. Lord help me consider what your word teaches so that I might walk in wisdom with knowledge and understanding. Amen

For  a the LORD gives wisdom;  from his mouth come knowledge and understanding; Proverbs 2:6 (ESV)

I have been driven many times to my knees by the overwhelming conviction that I had nowhere to go. My own wisdom, and that of all about me, seemed insufficient for the day. -Abraham Lincoln
